Dilph-lore
Once upon a time there were three brothers who loved to draw pictures and tell stories. Ron, the eldest, oft wrote stories of strange creatures and bad Bibles. Julia, the middle child, who loved pop culture wrote her own Teenaged Mutant Ninja Turtles slash fiction. Rod, the youngest brother, loved gardening almost as much as he loved painting. There was that time around a family campfire where Roddie said, “We should print our comics!” The rest is her-story.
The Brothers Dilphenstein’s mission is to make comics weirder and better. The weirder the better. In these books we are exploring the depths and mysteries of humanity as you only truly can, from a sideways glance through the lens of art and images.
The brothers Dilphenstein value comics, story telling, desserts and snacks and above all else: sharing that connection with a reader when what was laid down has been related and understood, felt even.
The brothers first started out creating comics and novellas on old copy paper they found at the library. They even made the covers from a wallpaper book that Ron fished out of the dumpster! Now, they get their books professionally printed. We no longer use materials from the dumpster…mostly.
We are offering you fine art turned in its head, spun into a compelling story, giving you food for thought for your entire lifetime. Thus providing intrigue, comfort and solace to our readers. The titillation one feels while reading an issue of Dilphenstein is only rivaled by going to a WWE wrestling match. Once the excitement has subsided, our readers are left with a feeling of relief, often saying aloud, “at least I’m not that fucked up. “
Dilphenstein has been read in dozens of places in our hometown, and we’d like to be read in your hometown as well.
